Fixed Income – GPS’ fixed income traders are current on all major market developments. They maintain daily contact with many primary and regional broker-dealers. GPS “shops the market” for the best price and execution on all fixed income trades. Additionally, GPS works closely with its customers’ portfolios to create cross-customer swaps that allow each manager to better reach their investment objectives while decreasing transaction costs.
Government Sponsored Agencies (GSE)
GPS specializes in servicing government and quasi-government entities. In 2005 the firm expanded its desk to become an underwriter of the product these entities invest in most, government agencies. The firm is a direct underwriter for Freddie Mac and the Federal Home Loan Bank. GPS can access the window for any posting or perform a reverse inquiry should a date that is not posted be desired. In addition, GPS has relationships with most major swap desks, so if the appropriate security for a client is not readily available GPS has the ability to structure and create the necessary security. Lastly, GPS is a member of the Global Group for the Federal Home Loan Bank and the reference note pool for Freddie Mac. This gives GPS the ability to access many of the large deals directly from these Agencies.
